The Company That Texans Trust for Roofing
When most people think of storm damage, they think of hailstones or impact damage from tree limbs. Wind is also a major threat to a roof, siding, gutters and more. As air currents pass over your roof, they can more than double in speed. This can lead to shakes or shingles being dislodged or completely blown off. While a light breeze will not do harm, high winds can cause major damage to your home.Wind Damage Repair Services

How to Inspect Your Roof for Wind Damage
When it’s safe to do so, go outside after a storm and assess the condition of your roof. While you should also have an experienced roofing contractor do a more in-depth inspection, you can do a visual investigation to determine if there are signs of problems. Some items to look out for include the following:
- Shingles on the ground
- Split or curled shingles or shakes
- Blisters, tears or cracks, especially near the edges of the roof
- Metal on the ground
- Damaged chimney bricks
- Broken or bent flashing
- Broken or bent gutters
- Siding damage
You don’t need to climb onto your roof to determine whether it is damaged – if fact, it’s not recommended at all due to safety concerns. Instead, inspect your roof from the ground and call for wind damage repair if you see any of the above issues.
